Electrical earthing (grounding) is essential for safety in any building. Proper earthing protects against electric shocks, equipment damage, and fire hazards by providing a safe path for fault currents to flow into the ground.

Why Earthing is Important

  • Personal Safety: Prevents electric shock to humans
  • Equipment Protection: Protects appliances from damage
  • Fire Prevention: Reduces electrical fire risk
  • Lightning Protection: Dissipates lightning surges
  • Stable Voltage: Maintains consistent voltage levels

Types of Earthing We Install

Pipe Earthing

Galvanized iron pipe driven into the ground. Most common for residential use.

Plate Earthing

Copper or GI plate buried in the ground. Good for commercial/industrial.

Rod Earthing

Copper or GI rod driven into soil. Quick installation.

Chemical Earthing

Modern maintenance-free earthing using chemical compounds. Ideal for rocky soil or areas with high soil resistance.

Earthing Installation Process

  1. Site assessment and soil testing
  2. Dig earthing pit (appropriate depth)
  3. Install earthing electrode (pipe/plate/rod)
  4. Add charcoal and salt layers
  5. Connect earthing wire to electrode
  6. Run earthing wire to distribution board
  7. Connect to all circuits and appliances
  8. Test earth resistance (should be <5 ohms)

Earthing Costs

TypePrice (PKR)
Pipe Earthing (GI)8,000 - 12,000
Plate Earthing (GI)12,000 - 18,000
Copper Rod Earthing15,000 - 25,000
Chemical Earthing18,000 - 35,000
Earth Testing2,000 - 3,000

Signs of Poor Earthing

  • Tingling sensation when touching appliances
  • Frequent electric shocks
  • Appliances tripping ELCB/RCD
  • Fluctuating voltages
  • TV/computer showing interference
